Internationally acclaimed clarinet virtuoso Dimitri Ashkenazy performs the gorgeous but seldom-heard Clarinet Concerto by Aaron Copland, plus the world premiere of Bay Area composer Richard Festinger's new concerto written for Dimitri and the SFCO. The amazing and versatile bellringers of the Sonos Handbell Ensemble become our soloists in a delightful J.C. Bach concerto to lead off our program, and Mahler's sumptuous Adagietto from his Fifth Symphony will close it.
