Jeffrey
Strong is a first-year graduate student at Northwestern University.
In 2006, he received his B.M. from the San Francisco Conservatory of music
under the tutelage of Professor David Burkhart. He was accepted twice to
the Bands of America National Honor Band, and was first chair trumpet two
consecutive years in the CMEA All-State Orchestra. Mr. Strong toured
Europe as a soloist with the Fresno Youth Symphony, won best trumpet at
the Reno Jazz Festival, and was a member of the San Francisco Symphony
Youth Orchestra for three years. He was the recipient of the
Brass Departmental award during both his Junior and Senior years at the
San Francisco Conservatory of Music. He attended the Henri Mancini
Institute where he has collaborated with such artists as John Williams,
Stevie Wonder, Diana Krall, and Arturo Sandoval. During Mr.
Strong’s Undergraduate study in San Francisco, he freelanced with
various professional ensembles in the Bay Area including the Monterey
Symphony, the Berkeley Symphony, the Peninsula Ballet Theater, and members
of the San Francisco Symphony and Opera Brass. |
