Audrey Vardanega
Audrey Vardanega was born in Walnut Creek, California in September 1995 and currently is a sixth grader in The Crowden School in Berkeley. Audrey began her piano studies at the age if six. In 2004, she was invited to the Zephyr International Music Festival in Italy, where she performed chamber music as a pianist. In 2006, she was given a full scholarship to Vienna International Piano Academy in Vienna, Austria where she performed as a soloist with many others from all over the world. Beside her piano study, Audrey is also an excellent violin player and composer. She has been a winner of many awards as a piano soloist and composer. Including: MTAC Composers Today in 2002 and 2005 with "Beauty Of Heart" (for piano solo) and "Sonata in G" (for piano solo), Yamaha National Jamboree in 2003 and 2004 with "Folk Tale" (for piano solo) and "Peter Pan Suite" (for violin and piano), two time first prize winner in the US Open Music Competition in the Junior Piano Concerto Division (2006) and the Showcase Solo Division (2007), performer in the San Francisco International Music Festivals’ Young Artists’ Piano Duo Concert, and finalist in the Virginia Waring International Piano Competition. Audrey also has participated in master classes with Lang Lang, John Nokamatsu, and John McCarthy. Besides musical studies, she studies acting at the American Conservatory of Theatre. She enjoys ice skating, reading, swimming, and playing with her teacup Maltese dog, Kokoro. Currently, she studies piano with Robert Schwartz in San Francisco.
